RIP Hedi Annabi
At the same time the vast majority of foreign, non Arabic-speaking, press agencies were analysing the legacy of Hedi Annabi, Tunisian journalists have been busy mourning Frenchman and right-wing politician Philippe Seguin, an individual to whom Tunisians owe nothing.
Hedi Annabi is an eminent Tunisian figure in the UN system who recently died in Haiti where he’d been leading the peacekeeping mission from 2007 until the earthquake. He is one of very few people of whom this country can be truly proud of, even if he chose to be out of the spotlight. Last night BBC journalists talked extensively about this man when our media said nothing.
I feel outraged and disgusted. Shame on our media. Shame on us.

C'est écœurant aussi qu'on fasse pas un hommage ou une émission spécial pour ce grand homme. Apparemment le foot est plus important que ces gens qui font porter le nom de notre pays très haut

C'est vraiment bizarre, en googlant le nom de ce Monsieur j'ai trouve que la plupart des journaux Anglo-Americaines lui ont consacre des articles pour lui rendre hommage. Par contre il n'y a rien dans nos media. Ils ont trop occupes par le foot, et surtout, surtout, des activites de notre majeste le mauve, qui pete le feu comme d'habitude. Ils faudrai peut-etre les excuser.
